PETITION

To: The People’s Procuracy of Long An Province

My name: NGUYEN THI KIM LIEN Born in: 1961

ID No.: 300454006 Date of issue: August 10, 2007 Place of issue: Long An Police

Address: 584 National Route 62, Ward No. 6, Tan An City, Long An Province.

Mother of DINH NGUYEN KHA, born in 1988, address: 584 National Route 62, Ward No. 6, Tan An City, Long An Province.

Dinh Nguyen Kha is currently detained at the police detention of Long An Province for the investigation of a charge of “terrorism.”

On Aug. 30, 2013, my family was allowed to visit Dinh Nguyen Kha at the detention. However, the security office arbitrarily instructed the facility to only allow my husband, Mr. DINH VAN CHUON, to see my son. Kha’s older sister and I are legally registered on the visitation permit but we both were not allowed to see him.

During the visitation, Dinh Nguyen Kha said the security office of Long An Province had coerced him to plead guilty on charge of “terrorism” while he had been unable to contact lawyer and family for seeking help from other authorities.

On behalf of my son, I am asking for help from the People's Procuracy of Long An Province, which supervises the uniform implementation of the law, on the matter that my son, Dinh Nguyen Kha, had been coerced by security office of Long An Province to admit guilt on charge of “terrorism.”

I request the People's Procuracy of Long An Province to investigate the unlawful actions of the security office of Long An Province in forcing my son to admit guilt on charge of “terrorism.” I also request the permission to hire a defense lawyer for my son as he had sent such request to the security office, and have the defense lawyer to attend interrogations to protect my son from being falsely accused.

We would like to thank the People's Procuracy of Long An Province.
